Blog = Web-Log,  a system to allow a n administrator or site owner to  quickly add articles without having their webmaster upload the new webpages.
Wiki = a tool for user-generated content that allows visitors (not  just the administrator or owner) to add content to a website.
Forum = a discussion community that has dialogue threads on specific topics, allowing user to add data.  The forum is usually, but not always, moderated by an overall site owner.
Frontend = user facing  part of the website.
Backend = database, system side  of the website.
Design = putting all of the elements in a logical manner that meets the product goals.   Usually involves artistic  talent.  In web design, it’s the front end, user facing part of the development.
Development = usually refers to the system, database,  or network side of the work in web software.
Listserv = system to email out to a large array of email subscribers who have opted in to receive information about a specialized topic.

Bulliten Board = an online place to post messages, where user generated content is enabled.
Community = basically, same as a bulliten board.
FTP = File Transfer Protocol = a method to upload files, can also be a feature added to website to allow your visitors to share data and upload data files, with the potential for secure log-on to controlled areas of the website.
User Generated Content = the feature that can allow visitors to the website to add comments. Often, but not always, these comments are moderated by the site administrator.

3-D Rendering = creating a drawing with  X,Y,Z dimensions (typical in a CAD system).

4-D Rendering = creating a movie with  X,Y,Z, and Time dimensions (typical in a motion graphics or CAD-simulation system).
Animation =motion graphics in a computer drawing (often has a cartoon-like look to it, but not always)

UI= User Interface = the system that allows the software to be interacted with by the human user.

FX = Effects, meaning the special edits done to a photo, graphic illustration, or video to make it extra visually impressive, like fades, wipes, haze, blur, etc.
